Hi all,
I have seen numerous comments about slow loading during the Plug-in init stage and has run some experiments. In my standard system, I have the following AutoFX items: autoeye 2, dreamsuite 1 and 2, mystical lighting, pge5. I also have extenisis Mask pro3, and PhotoFrame 2.5.
With the above, CS takes 93 secconds to load and PS7 takes 80 seconds to load.
If I remove PGE 5, the time drops to 22 secons for CS and 19 secons for PS7.
So what is it about PGE 5 that makes Photoshop take so much longer to load. Is it perhaps that is is required to somehouw cache, look at the 35000 files that are part of PGE 5?
For now, I’m just removing PGE 5, by copying the PGE folder out of the plugins folder and also the pge_plugIn.8bf file. I didn’t do any registery changes, but immediately got the speedup noted.
Cheers,
Doc
