This is in regards to a general problem I see a lot of people have. This solution may not work for everyone, but I at least wanted to post my findings from my computer for those who are experiencing similar problems. This may help, depending on who you are.

The problem involves pasting Japanese text into Photoshop 7 under Windows 98. Instead of pasting the text you want, it will instead show up as a bunch of dots. I am not sure if any operating system higher than 98 exhibits this strange behaviour. However, I noticed on my computer that if I went to the text-tool’s anti-aliasing option and set it to something OTHER than "none", then the text will show up. Another thing to remember is to make sure your font is first set to "MS Gothic" or another Japanese font for this to work properly. If you accidentally paste before setting the font, it will not change if you try to set the font afterwards. You must delete all characters, select the proper font, then paste again.

If this helps anyone, please let me know.
