Selecting all channels

Does anyone know a way to automatically select all channels in a multichannel image? For RGB and CMYK you can select the color composite with control/command-tilde, which also selects all of the individual channels. For a multichannel image that does not work. Could this be done with an automation plugin, and if so does anyone have such? Or is there some hidden function in Photoshop itself that would do it.
