Disabling Photoshop update on startup

When starting Photoshop 7 (and Illustrator 9), is there a way of preventing the program searching for Adobe updates? Both programs throw up error messages when they can’t get through our firewall, leading to much irritable pop-up chasing!

In Photoshop 7: Edit>Preferences>Adobe Online and change the default to never check. Not sure about illustrator as I’ve never used it.

Duh! I checked preferences using Ctrl-K, and so never spotted that!

Illustrator has the same options.
