Whenever I load a photo into photoshop it positions it underneath the toolbar on the left. It was not doing this before, but locating the picture between the layers palette on the left and the toolbar on the right. Its a small thing I know, but I would like to not have to move the pic 1/4" to the right every time I load a pic.

As far as I've ever seen Photoshop always loads the image to the top left of the work space, unless you're loading multiple images simultaneously. It also opens the image at a proportional size that fits your work space based on image pixel dimensions. But what you can do is move your tool pallets so they don't appear over the image next time you open one. Photoshop will remember the position of the components of your work space when it starts.
