I’ve just re-installed Photoshop 7.0 on my new computer (WinXP). When I start the program I get the message "This application has failed to start because DECO_32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

I hit OK and get the message again. I hit OK again and the app loads. I uninstalled and re-installed two more times with no luck.

This message didn’t appear until I tried to install ACR. The ACR never fully installed because I couldn’t find my registration code. I purchased it online from the Adobe Store. The code was lost with all the info on my old computer.

Hi George,
There are a couple of previous threads on this topic…

ID. Awe "DECO_32.dll …where do I stick it?" 9/4/03 8:02am </cgi-bin/webx?13/0>

Jeri Reeve "Deco_32.dll" 1/30/03 10:33pm </cgi-bin/webx?13/1>

Hope they point you in the right direction!

Hi,
I had the same problem. Someone in another thread indicated that Deco_32.dii was used for reading fractal files. Since I had also installed Genuine Fractals with my first PS CS install, I reinstalled GF and all problems were resolved. Hope this helps.
