Photoshop is not a page layout program. Normally, one would create a CD or DVD
cover by creating just the images in Photoshop, creating the logos and such inn
Illustrator, then assembling the cove and adding text in a page layout program
like QuarkXPress or Indesign.
Yes, you can do it all in Photoshop, but it's more difficult and more frustrating, and the results won't be as good.
...and can I save or export the project to a bmp or jpg file for e-mail
JPEG is not an appropriate format for anything that will be printed; it's "lossy," meaning it degrades the quality of the image. Only use JPEG for situations where file size is important and quality is not important. that's
what JPEG was made for.
LZW-compressed TIFF is a more appropriate format dfor something you intend to
print.
How will it be printed? Professionally on a printing press? On a home inkjet
printer?
