1.) Can you all please tell me, is there a significant difference between the PS7 physical CD and the PS7 download? Are there extra items on the CD not contained in the download?
2.) Is it generally understood that Adobe will be giving free Version CS upgrades when it comes out in a few weeks if one buys the Version 7 right now?

For one thing, and speaking only about Photoshop 7, you don't get a printed manual when you download. I think the packaged version also included a video training CD. With Photoshop 7, the printed manual is still included.
When CS comes out, and speaking only about the suite (not individual upgrades), printed manuals for each app are NOT included. In that case, there will be no difference between CD and download (if a download will even be available, that is). The only way to get a printed manual is to buy individual upgrades rather than the suite.

Apparently the printed manuals will be available at extra cost (ordered as a separate item) for the CS Suites I phone customer services in the UK last week and enquired about this they had no details yet but thought the manuals would cost about £40 or less for the set.
