Hue?saturation doesnt work

was trying out an effect, a very common, one, blast effect, which i have done before, and when i came to change its colour it didnt work...Hue/sauration doesnt seem to work for anything now, i cant click it or do it from the tool bar...please help

check your image is RGB and you dont have a hidden active selection or your in 16bit.

Do you means the image/adjustments/hue sat command?
Or are you talking about an adjustment layer?

What do you mean by "do it from the toolbar"?

the image adjustments one....it doesnt work....for anything i do.

danny please give us all the info up front so we don't have to play 20 questions. what does "doesn't work" mean. do you mean you get no response when you move the sliders or do you not see the dialog box when you use the command? or something else? if you don't get the box, see the faq topic "Dialog Box Is Missing"

what i mean is when i go on image>adjustments?hue/saturation

hue/saturation is faded out and i cant click on it.

That implies that either
1) you have a layer selected that cannot have H/S adjusted
2) your image mode is unsuitable - what is it?

Try a prefs reset - see FAQ. Such odd bahaviour can usually be fixed that way.

Hmm, since when did Hue/saturation not work with Index or 16 bit images?
