I use Focus Magic and like it. I don't know how it compares to other addin tools though. I used to use some actions that I downloaded. They masked just the edges and then used USM.

Focus Magic finds lines and makes them thinner. It works very well if you are sharpening by up to 4 pixels. It works pretty well up to about 7 pixels. After that there usually isn't enough detail to sharpen enough to really help.

It also has a motion blur fixer that also works pretty well for small corrections. The big stuff doesn't really help. Large motion correction will add artifacts and/or a very plastic look to the picture. It has helped me a few times though.

Most of my sharpening happens at 2 or 3 pixels for the first pass. It seems to help to run another pass at 1 pixel - most of the time. This doesn't leave any artifacts. It gives me max sharpening that works at all sizes.

I would recommend Focus Magic.
