Problem opening my Photoshop file, privew thumbnail correct, but nothing inside?

I have been working on a project in PS for a while now, today I opened ther PSD file and all that is there is a black locked background layer, with a few red dots around the top boarder.

ALL my work is gone :(, When viewing the PSD file in Windows Explorer, the file details windows shows the correct image of what image should be in the PSD file. All other PSD files are still oppening correctly.

I am using Photoshop 7 upgrade, if anyone can help me get my work back it would be appreciated as My assignment is due soon.
