I have just bought a used Colorvision Spyder, not yet installed , that comes with PhotoCal. I understand that OptiCal is the better software to use. Does anyone know if the hardware – the Spyder itself can work with either ? If I were to get a copy of OptiCal can it be run with this Spyder which was packaged with PhotoCal ?

Thanks

The Spyder works with OptiCal or PhotoCal — no problem.

Works with both, but I would install Optical instead of Photocal. Currently the spiders are delivered with both software packages…

Yes it will work with either program. Be sure to dl the latest versions of both from their website, just use the sn’s you have. If you use the PreCal prior to creating a profile with OptiCal, set OptiCal’s whitepoint setting to ‘native’. This info is buried in the website’s FAQ’s and is not in the manual.
