Dear readers,

Is there a way to turn off color management in PS7?

Since I’m not doing anything for print or whoknowswhat, I just want to see colors with no annoying remapping.

Nothing in Edit/Color Settings, nor anything in View/Proof Setup really turns it off. The easiest way to tell is by looking at a simple gradient — if it’s not blending smoothly, color correction is on. And I can tell. 🙂

View->Proof Setup->Monitor RGB turns it off for display.

Or your display is set to 16-bit color rather than 24/32-bit color…

It does not. Are you sure this applies to v7 too? Maybe it needs extra settings somewhere to work right?

It is not set to 16-bit in my case. (And BTW, 16-bit, even w/o dithering, looks much better than Photoshop color corrected).

Does anyone have other suggestions?
