Usenet then probably no, but web forum then there should be plenty. Me, English is 1 of my 3 2nd languages, and it’s just good enough to get thing done but useless to write a novel in English.

And you are so right about understanding as I can’t tell between good vs bad English to agree with English speaking person vs non-English speaking person, between British vs American vs Australian and so on. So it’s pretty much a fool for an English speaking person trying to tell the non-English speaking person how great his or her English is.

My grand-daugher is English teacher who teaches Americans how to write a better English, but like I mention above that I can’t tell the difference to learn from her. Or if I can tell the difference then I would have a perfect English decades before most living English speaking persons were born.

I have been on some usenet groups for a long time (the so-called spiritual type ones, that seem to be the worst for people being mean and verbally abusive) and there are just some who maybe need to vent. And there aren’t many safe places to do it anymore. There aren’t many unmoderated groups around online.
Seems like all we can do is just work around them and not give attention to them (in a negative way) There’s also the idea you can SUGGEST something (like having patience with people who don’t know English well but try to communicate) and I agree with you about what you wrote, but we can’t force everyone to do it. All we can do is suggest, and live the best we we can, ourselves.
And, in this case, focus on what most of us love and feel passtionate about. Graphics, and Photoshop and creating and sharing our art? That is much more posiitve than trying to change someone who obviously isn’t here for passion, creativity or Photoshop or art.
We all can make peaceful choices and get back to what we feel is important here.

Then there is English and "American" English, which probably has more slang. I admire people who can communicate in English when it’s not their main/first language.
And even if there are groups in other languages, why can’t everyone be welcome here?
I guess I shouldn’t be jumping in like this, I just found this group and don’t even know anyone, yet.
But, I’ve been on other usenet groups and some of them get so bad they are impossible to communicate on. I was so happy to find this one that has SOME about Photoshop I can learn from. People willing to take time to share and help others learn.
Haven’t got far enough yet to see if anyone posts links to pictures. I’ve been learning PS for a lot of years (on my on, as I go along) and just got so I feel I know more about it, like to actually use without having to figure it out or "ask Google".
