If you have version 7, easy as pie. You highlight the files in PS’s file browser, right click, Batch rename.

If all you’re doing is renaming, you can use a free third party utility like CKRename or THERename.

If you are converting file formats (from PSD to JPG for example), then you create an action and run that action from File|Automate|Batch.

If you don’t understand, just say what version you have and exactly what you’re doing – renaming or converting and you can get there from here <grin>

Peace,
Tony

Hi, I have version 6. I don’t need to convert the format in this instance – just rename them. How/where do I get a hold of a free third party utility? Thanks

See Adding extensions to hundreds MAC files <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?13@@.1dea2e39/0> for suggestions about using DOS commands for renaming files.

r_harvey’s link will work, or google on CKRename.
