I have some photographed hammers that I need to cut background out for placement in catalog/flyers etc. that have colored backgrounds. I want to add dimension to the photos with a drop shadow – how can I cut out the background of the photo and still have a drop shadow from Photoshop without having any white show through the shadow in other programs? Please Help. Laura

You can only do that by matching the background of the Photoshop file to the background in the DTP package.

I like your idea, but not a lot of RIPs support transparency at this moment 🙁
