when i select any of these filters cs4 will ‘stop working’ and i’m forced to close it.

this only happens on cs4 64bit. they works fine on the 32bit app.

i’m running vista 64.

any ideas or are other people experiencing this?

i’ve tried reseting my pref file but no luck.

cheers-

is there a dialog off screen somewhere? press ESC next time this happens…

if that fails, reset the preferences per the FAQ at the top of the topic list in this forum.

this is the only dialog that pops up when i try those filters:

i’ve uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop. deleted the pref file via ctrl-alt-shift and still no dice.

a co worker who is running a similar setup (though diff video card) has no trouble running those filters so i can’t quite figure out the problem.

i’m using a gtx 280 video card.

I can’t see that image to tell what the error is…

apologies, the image should be working now. it’s non specific though so i don’t think it will help isolate the problem.

i’ll try rolling back my graphics driver and see if that’s it.

rolled back to vista 64 sp1 and it’s working fine.

suppose it’s just an sp2 (beta) issue.

Well beta SPs are there for people like you to find out what’s wrong with them. B)

That’s something you should have pointed out in your original post.

Apologies for I thought I had but I was mistaken.

Thanks for your time regardless.
