I am trying to touch up
<http://www.filediver.com/view.php?id=870177trythis.jpg>

and with some help have come up with:

< http://img353.imageshack.us/img353/3245/870177trythiscopyxt8 .jpg>

the problem is that it does not look "real"

Are there some tricks someone could explain to me that could sell this touch up as not altered?

Start with your original, and paste the "fixed up" version on top three times. You can see in the pic. First layer, normal, 20%. Second layer hue at 50% and the third, normal at 70%. The first layer we don’t touch. The second, erase using a large soft brush _around_ the pinks lips to soften the "lipstick" line (on of your problems). On the third layer, erase with a soft brush the lips, eyes and teeth. First layer applies some of your original eye and lip color, as well as some of your blemish reduction. Second layer applies the lipstick color in a more realistic manner. Third layer applies more of the blemish reductions, without making the lips and eyes quite so fake.

That really helped the lips to look more natural but I just cannot seem to get any life out of the eyes.

Any suggestions on the eyes?

A good way to render eyes alive is to have a catchlight in there.
