Here’s an odd problem: Opening a 640×480 8 bit .psd file stored on a local machine is taking 30 seconds or more…unless I unplug the network cable. Then it opens instantaneously. It can be any file; I’ve tested more than one.

While I’m waiting for the file to be opened, I can see short bursts of outbound network activity.

This is a new behavior. Any ideas what is going on?

Thanks!

It MAY be that Adobe software slowness problems are caused by having a network printer as default… with the cure being to always have a local printer as a default (you don’t have to USE it, just have it set to local as default) and this may be accomplished by using an Adobe Generic Printer Driver < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=p drv&platform=win>

Also, make sure you have the auto-update feature turned OFF in all Adobe programs
