you could reset the preferences (instructions in the FAQ) to see if that clears it. save em out first and if it doesn’t do anything, just copy em back.

You should be getting an "Active Layer is Empty" message. I assume you realize that there is no point to running Levels where there are no pixels?

Thanks for the feedback. I suspected there should be a different error message, but I couldn’t remember what.

I’ve reset all the tools, and then the prefereneces as per the FAQ, but no difference.

I’ve probably managed to delete something in my registry cleaning, or temp file deletion or similar.

I think I’ll just re-install the prog, which should clean up any little bugs llike this.
