cs3 has started to print very green since i ticked a checkbox and now i cant find the box to change back. printing the same photo in other applications is fine so its not the printer but a photoshop setting.

Searched on google all morning and finally found this .http://www.nickhodge.com/blog/archives/2150 .. which is the exact box that i changed from composite rgb to composite cmyk ( I remember that box on the right that said Text as black.

But where is this from? It says its from Adobe InDesign.

But I dont have In Design!!

I have checked Adobe Bridge but there is no printing and colour part in there.

Anyone seen this in photoshop before???

Janice,

I would go to Mode > RGB. Is that what you mean?

thanks rob… but no.. if you can see the dialogue box i have postted the link to… that is where i changed the setting but i cannot find that anywhere in photoshop. I just wondered if anyone knew where I had found it, as it was the first time I had seen it!

You do not have a link there. even f you manually enter it,it says page no longer available.

the only thing i see there is a dialog from indesign. did you post this in the right forum? this is the photoshop forum.

if you DO mean photoshop, did you look in the edit> color settings area?

do mean photoshop as that is all i have. what i am saying is.. that i have changed a tickbox to composite cmyk and now my printout is greenish.

I cannot find the same dialogue box to change it back… but I then found a pic of it on a website (the dialogue box) but it says its a box from In Design.. but I dont have in design so where the hell was the box that i used to tick the commposite cmyk checkbox.

It is absolutely identical to the one in the link….. or you can see it here: <http://www.janicehobbs.com/screen.jpg>

Are those PDF settings?

Try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.

<http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.ef4a07f/1>

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.

This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.

Thanks John… I did that an hour ago and unfortunately I am still printing photos of martians instead of my rosy cheeked friends!!

That box said composite rgb and i changed it to composite cmyk (have no idea why and wish i hadnt!) but how could i have if i dont have adobe In-design? I know its not a normal photoshop box as i had never seen it before.

I was not able to recreate this with my printer, but perhaps this will work: type ctrl-P to get to your printer settings and change the Color Settings drop-down to "Printer manages colors".

Thanks… but the printer already does manage my colours and always has. Just dont see how it can print perfectly from other applications… ie lightoom and suddenly change in photoshop straight aftter i had ticked that box.

Did you think about my first suggestion – PDF settings?

They look very similar!

They do dont they! How do i find these, John?… and would that affect how a everything prints from photoshop, regardless if it a pdf file or a photo?

You find them by going to "Save as…" and selecting PDF from the drop-down list then clicking OK.

How this affects your situation is beyond me though – I just saw the similarity.

I completely uninstalled CS3…. then reinstalled… and hey presto my friends now have rosy cheeks again!

Thanks all for your help.
