You’ll need to install them via control panel > fonts > install new font. Just putting the files in there won’t do it.

They are not in the character pallet in Photoshop CS3. They are Trus Type
Do a search for and delete all instances of adobefnt*.lst (that extension is .LST).
I found many in the Distiller files. It’s ok to delete them all? Where did they come from?
These font lists are generated by Adobe apps to increase the loadup speeds, sometimes they do not behave as they should, deleting them will have them recreated and your fonts should show. I take it that you did an upgrade to Vista.
Yes….Vista. I deleted them all. No change in Photoshop though. I still cannot use any fonts that are not on the default list.
Have you scrolled right down beyond those funny ones?
What sort of fonts are missing? Give an example.
