Hi. I’d like to take a photo and slice it vertically at equal intervals to create gaps between the slices; and then add dropshadow to the slices. I know how to do the dropshadow but how do you create the slices at equal intervals?

Make a new guide at 50% and use that to snap a marquee selecting half the image. Shift-Ctrl-J puts it on its own layer, Then you can make drop shadows for each Layer.

If you want a visible gap between the halves increase the Canvas Size a bit and move them apart.
