I scanned several pictures of 9 by 11 inches onto my adobe 6, i go to image adjustments, i would like it in 5X7 it resizes everything, i print it off it is 5X7. yet when i open it in another aplication it is back to its original size of 9X 11. i have it saved under jpeg, yet when i open it or email it it reverts back to original size. i thought once you save an image the dimensions would be included? how can i keep the size i want under jpeg format? sorry for such a novice question!

Use Image|Image Size… and make sure Resample is checked.

9 X 11 (1.0:1.222) has a different height:width ratio than 5 X 7 (1.0:1.4). You need to crop it or it’ll look distorted.

Any way else to what? Get a 5×7? What exactly is the issue? the aspect ratio? You may have to add a border or live with an image that is minutely smaller than 5×7.
