im using photoshop cs3 but cannot get the pictures the same size for my website my brain hurts! this is what im doing at present. taking fashion shots of girl standing in same spot in studio, open up in photoshop do all the bits in raw then save file, open up again and change background colour etc and this is the bit where i go wrong i think,i then cut down the picture with the rectangular marquee tool to what looks good to my eye then save it, now my website people said download a freeby called pixresizer that should make all the pictures the same size but of course it changes each pic differently because my croping is not always the same, a lot of the pics are coming out at about 370×600 9.8cmx 15.88cm which seems about correct size. so instead of using picresizer i know i should be just using photoshop the correct way!!!
hope someone can help me
thanks

Open Photoshop Help.

In the Search box type: Image Processor.

Read it all and you will get the idea.

Take a look at this too:

Can’t you just type in the pixel dimension you want in the Crop Tool?

I thought he wanted to resize multiple pictures. If not, the crop tool is fine.

derek,

One thing you must get clear is that there are no centimeters on the web. You would do better to think in terms of pixel dimensions, no matter what solution you choose.

Th problem is two fold I think. The magazine or website wants all the images the same size, but they also want the girls to appear to be the same height as well. What you need to do when you crop your image is use your crop tool with the exact pixel dimensions you need, and when you are setting it on the image, leave roughly the same amount of distance between the models head and the top of the image, and the same distance between her feet, and the bottom of the image consistently on every imeage. That should get you teh desired results. I sued to shoot fashion and glamour photography just like this and that is how I did it. I say to eyeball it because you don;t want every image to be 100% exact.. .you need a little wiggle room for the human eye.
