I am running Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP
Sometimes when I use photoshop the cursors are ‘Normal brush tip’ and ‘standard’ as I have set them up in the preferences and sometimes they revert back to what I assume must be the default settings. The only way I can get back to the settings I have set is to close Photoshop, close windows and start again. This is most annoying!
Any ideas anyone please.

By the way I’m not the only one with this problem.

It’s usually caused by pressing the Caps Lock and can be undone the same way.

If it is really happening with no action from the keyboard, try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.

This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.

That has worked, many thanks.
I knew it had to be something simple!
