Upside down pictures

When I go to file and click open the pictures are upside down in the open box but the file names are right side up. What did I do to cause this and can it be fixed.

When you enter

upside down

there are some other messages to read… one may have a clue

I switched dialogs and it cleared it up.

When importing my images the preview next to the images are upside down, any fix for this? thanks,
