Hi
I scanned an old sepia photo about 4" x 3" – the intention being to enhance the image, remove blemishes and resize to almost double the original, whilst retaining as much detail as possible in the final print. I tried at 1200 dpi and after the resize ended up with about 100 mb. file I eventually rescanned at 500dpi and have about 22mb image file. What would be a reasonable scan resolution given the finished image size (about 7×5")
