Can’t find JPEG in list of "Save As"

Hi Newbie here, CS2 on windows xpress…I’m trying to save my images as JPEGS for uploading on internet. Frequently the list under "save as" doesn’t have this option…it only lists Photoshop PSD, Cineon Cin, PDF, PNG, TIFF….BUT no JPEG option. Is there something I have to do to the image to make the JPEG option come up on the list? By the way, SOMETIMES I do have the option. I don’t know what I’ve done differently to make this happen…you help is appreciated!

If your image is 16-bit/channel then you won’t get the option to Save As JPG. Either Mode change to 8-bit or (better if preparing images for web use) use Save for Web instead.
