PhotoShop Elements 6

I know I shouldn’t do repeated editing to a jpg because it is a lossy compressed format.

So while I am working on a photo through many sessions, which of the PhotoShop supported lossless format is it best to edit a photo in?

I see: *.PSD, *.PDD, *.PSE, *.EPS, *.ESD, *.PDF, *.PDB, *.RAW.

Which is the best "native" format for lossless editing during a project? Presumably I would want a format that supports all PSE features, layers,. etc.

Thanks!
Bruce.

Best? What car, camera, tv, is best. It’s what is easy for you on your program.

A good habit is to use PSE’s own format, PSD. Tiff is also a safe one to use.

PSE is going to try to save every thing you do in PSD anyway, so why not let it.

Very true. I meant in terms of preserving all PSE features such as layers, etc., without suffering from lossy compression as jpg does through multiple editing sessions.

Excellent. Thank you Jack. PSD it is.
