I’m an unusually bone-headed newbie using PS Elements 2.

I don’t understand how you move a selected object by, say, n pixels to the R.

I see no dialog box allowing you to specify an exact distance by which to move something–inches, pixels, or whatever. I mean, that is only one of the most fundamental features that visual software has.

Sure, you can drag a layer with the cursor–but then you have to continuously watch the Info palette to make sure the stupid object stays on axis. To boot, let’s say you’re elderly and have palsy, tremor, or arthritis and can’t hold the mouse that steady.

Let’s say you want to move something by 184 pixels. Are they saying the only way to do that is to hover over the object, note its position on the Info palette, carefully keep the mouse still while you grab a pencil and paper and add 184 to that number, then move the mouse thereto?

Or, as usual, am I missing something obvious here?

Thanks much.
