I was having a bit of a problem with my Retail purchased version of CS3 Extended. My know it all kid brother, said I needed to reinstall the program, and he went about just DELETING the old files not uninstalling them!

Now, I cannot get the program to reinstall, OR to use the OEM Disk to uninstall what is left over.

HOW can I go about this, other than to reformat my hard drive, as the people at the local computer store said I have to do?

Any assistance, will be greatly appreciated.

OEM Disk

No such thing. That could explain your problems.

OK… excuse my wording. I am just a dumb broad ok?

Make that the retail disk that came inside of the box that came from Adobe. Is that better.

Sorry… but I need to get this program working again; I really do not want to be forced to return to CS2 if that will even install now (have not tried).

HELP!

Variously, "grin", or "giggle".

Ya gotta go upper-case <G> for "guffaw" I think.

It seem like a stretch. I can understand πŸ™‚ without a problem, but I am way older than 20.

CompuServe was so hard to navigate, I gave up. Then came Mozilla.

Yes I know what <g> means… I am not a Blonde… I am a RED HEAD!

I was hoping to find a less drastic means of removing CS3 than to have to lose everything that went on using the Microsoft Installer.

But if that is what must be done (there is some other way right?)

Thanks for all of the attention… makes me feel good… oh yes, I maybe "dumb" but I am not "old" as well… let’s just say mid twenties.

Or is that too old for you <lol>

It’s a pretty selective tool. Just set it to kill the Photoshop install and you should be good to go.

Or is that too old for you <lol>

Sadly, just the opposite is true.

I have done all you suggested, and then did a run through the registry using REGEDIT searching for either PHOTOSHOP10 and/or CS3

The is NO reference to the program anywhere in the Registry.

But I still cannot get Photoshop CS3 to reinstall. It starts, as I see a window that show it is doing something… and then NOTHING.

I checked Task Manager and there is no application running (I expected to see setup or something), and the CPU meter is at about 2%.

Any new suggestions? (PLEASE)
