I set out to make a logo for my friend and once I finished the structure I went to add color and an "error box" came up and said…

"Could not use the paint bucket because the content of the layer is not directly editable."

This is the first time I used photoshop and really need some help!

Thanks in advance!

Devin

Devin,

I don’t recall which type of layer gives that error, but basically you have a layer selected that is applying some sort of effect that doesn’t have color attributes associated with it (I think that’s a correct way of phrasing it). Before applying the fill, make certain the Layer Palette shows your currently selected layer to be one that contains actual colored image data.

You may have had an adjustment layer active, rather than an image layer.
