I am a Photoshop CS2 version 9.02 novice.
I want to learn how to create patterns for Intarsia.
I want to take a photo and turn into a line pattern similar to those used to create stained glass. Can anyone direct me to a tutorial?

Using CS3, but the differences shouldn’t be great. I’m assuming you don’t want the relatively uniform sizes provided by Texture > Stained Glass. Try combinations of things, such as Image > Adjustments > Posterize, filters such as Other>Maximum, Other>Minimum, Artistic>Fresco, Artistic>Poster Edges, and Distort>Glass to get partway there. Try duplicating the layer with your work and try apply the Other>High Pass to the upper layer and then change the blending mode to see what gets you where you want to be, such as Pin Light.

Here’s an example of a forest scene that uses all of the things I’ve mentioned (this was scaled down greatly for posting).
