PE4 and red eye

When I import photos into the Organizer, the Organizer takes it upon itself to remove red eye from the photos being imported–it doesn’t ask me if I want the removal done. Is there any way to stop this batch-processing, auto red-eye removal? There doesn’t seem to be a way to turn it on & off. The function is located at Edit>Auto Red Eye Fix in the Organizer.

When I import images using the Adobe Photo Downloader it does have a checkbox you can uncheck to void the red eye fix.
