Elements Hijacks Other Photo-editing Software

When I launch other photo-editing software, such as Hewlett Packard’s, Photoshop Elements hijacks it. How do I disable this function in Elements, so I can use other software unhampered?

You need to go to the Windows explorer, Tools, Options and the select the "filetype" tab.
Then browse through the registered file type list and choose the files that you are interested in. Then change the "open with" to match the program you want to use. You have do this with each image file that you using.
