For the last day or so, whenever I edit a photo it doesn’t save the new version in the version set. I simply get the message that Elements has found new files in "watched folders." I’m defintely checking the box on the save window that says "save in version set with original," and most of the time it defaults to that choice. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it? I’m using Elements 3.0 on a Windows XP operating system, DELL computer.

I believe that what is happening is that the folder watching mechanism is getting in before the software updates the catalog with the version set information. The simple way to avoid this is don’t edit files that are located in a folder that is being "watched" – i.e. move [using File/Move or D&D in folder view] images to some other folder.

IMHO, a better solution is to not use watched folders and just import manually as and when you need to. The folder watching is a continuous drain on your PC’s resources.
