Dropdown Doesn’t work

When I click on a drop-down box square (Mode: Normal/Lighten/Darken For Instance) it just flashes and disappears, rather than displaying the list of options. Is there a way to fix this?

You don’t say which version, etc., but try trashing/resetting Preferences as per the FAQa.

Doesn’t work. The menu flashes and disappears quickly still. I’m running Photoshop CS3, and just upgraded from CS2. Resetting didn’t do anything.
