Crop tool not working

My crop tool is suddenly not responding to mouse actions. It will activate and allows itself to be placed, but does not pull down in correct manner. Instead, it is slow as molasses and only will pull down diagonally and only for am inch or so.

Dorman,

Make sure there’s nothing in the boxes on the option bar. Click the Clear button.
