Hello,
I installed Tiger from scratch and then re-installed PSE 3.0. As I hadn’t had an internet-connection then, I didn’t register PSE, anyway, I had registered PSE before.

Now when I launch PSE, I get this annoying "Do you want to regiser"-Dialog. It doesn’t matter if I choose "register now" or "register later", nothing happens, and the next time I start PSE, the same thing happens again.

Any ideas? Or is this again lazy Macintosh programming from Adobe, as seen on countless issues in the last few years (hint: Adobe products on Mac had been off higher quality once …).

TIA

If you agree to register, it should take you to a Web page. Then you can just quit and it won’t worry you any more.

Yes, you don’t even need to go to the site. Just let it launch Safari (or whatever your default browser is) and then it won’t ask again. BTW, for future reference, your registration data is in your library/application support/adobe/registration database file. You can back that up and save entering the serial numbers on your adobe products when you reinstall them.

Colin, Barbara, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take me anywhere when I agree to register. It doesn’t take me anywhere either if I chose "register" from the Help-Menu. I klick "’OK" (or whatever button there is to accept registration) and then – nothing. Safari (default browser) doesn’t do anything, PSE – nothing.
Any ideas?

Thanks

It sounds like you don’t have a good install, Sebastian. I would drag the program folder (from applications) to the trash along with the PE3 preferences and paths folders and com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist. The last three are in your user/library/preferences folder. If you have anti-virus it should be disabled before installing. I hope you don’t have any other Norton products installed?
