Rob,

I’ve never defragged a computer before, only because of the horror stories I hear of looseing all your files. We unfortunatly dont have any server backup at my work either. So all the design files are on this one computer alone. Is defragging safe to do? I know it sounds like a dumb question but I’ve never had to do it before. And that 80% is going to be hard to get to. haha

Is defragging safe to do?

hell no! not without backup up your files if those are the only copies! get a usb or firewire drive and backup 1st thing!

…. and if you’re unsure about backup get a drive with built in backup software.
