background erasing

PE version 2: i am successful at erasing a background of a .jpg for the most part until it comes to smooth edges around the item itself. how do you come out with a smooth edge? i’m wanting no background at all.

How are you erasing the background? I guess the answer to your question depends on what method you are using.

If you are simply using the Eraser Tool and just want a softer transition between the subject and erased background, try using a soft brush.
