Hiya guys 🙁

I keep running into a Full Scratch Disk, Ive emptied
everything I can think of. It runs ok for a little while then its full again.

But now, I don’t have anything to empty out, where
the heck is this scratch disk thing???

How full is your hard drive? That’s where your scratch disk is if you haven’t set a different one.

I have almost half a HD empty, is there somewhere
that I set it to a certain place? I figured it
was using my HD, but it must not be 🙁

When you say, half empty–how big is it?

Check in Editor/Edit/Preferences/Plug-ins and scratch disk. Have you changed the memory allocation? That could cause this.

Also, have you defragged recently? If not, give that a try.

Ohhh wow, I havent defragged for a while 🙁
I’ll get on that to night.

I have 4GBs HD left.

I have 4 places in the memory allocation box, should
all of them be pointing to the C drive?

Barb, thanks so much for your help 🙂

Yes, don’t change anything in the boxes unless you have another drive that’s as fast as your main drive.

4GB is not very much these days, but defragging should help some.

The first box is pointing to Startup, what ever that is. and the other 3 boxes are not pointing to anything

Yes, that’s how it should be. Just defrag and it should work okay.

Ok will do 🙂

But a little confused, should they point
to Startup or C drive… C drive is there to

Startup, assuming you only have one internal drive.

Hi there.

4 Gb spare space on your HDD is not really enough.

Can you clear it our some, by burning older Photo Files onto CD, or get an extra HDD to be your main Scratch Disc. They are pretty cheap at the moment.

MF,

If this is something you find that you never do… you could also consider scheduling the defragger to go when you’re not running the PC or pick up something like Diskeeper that will run in the background either constantly without really interfering. I got lazy and purchased the latest version and love it.

Cheers

Well… I’m sure I’ve made worse mistakes… I just don’t care to admit my "blonde moments" and yes that is the colour of my hair (so I can say that). 🙂

That said… give the proximity of the "r" to the "f"… at least no one has made THAT mistake… Can you say "censure"? 🙂

Cheers
