I have this problem too.
If I copy any object apart from text in InDesign, and then go to PSE3, I lose Quit, New, Close, etc.
Logging out was becoming tedious, so thanks for the workout, ie copying something new to the clipboard, that works well.
Definately a bug that needs ironed out!
My specs are:
MacOS X 10.3.9, eMac 1.25GHz, 512Mb.
I’m using the Try Out version of Photoshop Elements 3.0×199.
