Hi, new user to this forum and Photoshop.

I need to make some graphics (JPEG) transparent. I can use the magic wond to highlight the area I want to keep, but then what?? How do I save? I have jumped out to new layer, and or I have tried to save as merged.

Can some one tell me how to save a graphic once I have highlighted the section I want.

Using CS3

Thanks
Steve

JPEG does not support transparency. For the web you need to save in a format that does support transparency. For print you need a clipping mask.

Thanks John, OK so JPEG does not support transparency…Great to know that.

If I open as JPEG in CS3 and have the marching ants properly displayed, what is the best way to save the selected area to a PGN for instance?

For print you need a clipping mask.

Nope…InDesign will do just fine.

OK, you all caught me, I wasn’t very clear. I need the graphics to go to flash and powerpoint, without the white box.

Thanks
