After I have changed the ‘levels’ or used the ‘bright/contrast’ filter there are gaps in the photographs histogram.

Is it possible to create a new histogram afterwards (without gaps)?

Thanks in advance.

Yah, you can undo the changes you made in levels and brightness/contrast. You have the histogram you have because your adjustments threw out image data. The only way to not do that is not not make corrections.

Repeated adjustments will cause cumulative data loss. For that reason, it is far better to use Adjustment Layers which can be adjusted time and again without further data loss.

you should work with 16Bit Images (if possible, and if your camera can deliver RAW files). There you have enough data left, and the histogram will not be destroyed !
