Automate>Merge To HDR doesn’t work – CS3

When I choose Automate > Merge to HDR, all the steps appear to work until it says "Align Selected Layers Based On Content". The status or progress bar moves but when it appears to be finished, the screen simply goes back to the normal workspace. No images! So I tried it again with a different set of jpg’s and it worked this time! For some reason the first images simply wont work. Oh, and they did at one time!

Also, does anyone know of some good sources for HDR tutorials using CS3?
