Error number 106

After a recent computer problem in which the hard drive was completely re-formatted, I am having difficulty in re-loading PS7. After about 45% installation a message comes up advising of "error number 106-refer to online help". managed to install ok on my laptop. Hope someone can help

This has been posted a number of times in the forum, and I *think* it’s in the faq. You should be able to do a search on the forum (and make sure and check the faq)

Hello i wonder if you can help me, i kno0w its been a while since you posted this message but i have the same problem bu i can’t copy the photoshop files from cd to Hdd as it also fails. Do you have any other suggestions or do you know why this happens.

jo, that indicates either a bad cd drive or a bad photoshop disk. try it with some other disks, if they fail too the drive is going, if not, call adobe about getting some replacement media for your damaged disk.

Thankyou – it does work on my notebook though so i took that as an indication the disc was ok. I’m able to install other products onto my system – hopefully its the disc – thanks alot.
