When you are working on a file and making multiple saves, how do you label and organize each save so that at a later stage if you need to revisit the file you open the last saved file and not accidentally open an older version? I understand that you shouldn’t name your file "Final" as it is never final.

Please advise.

Thanks,
K

Well, you can invent a version naming/numbering system that works for you.

You can also just sort by creation or modification date/time stamp.

If you use the "Image Duplicate" function the system will automatically add the word "copy" to the end of your document name. Each time you make a copy using this function it will automatically add another "copy" to the end of the document name (example, sample.psd; sample copy.psd; sample copy copy.psd). Since all files will have the same name plus xnumber of "copy"s, they’ll all line up in a list in your save location and will be easy to find. The larger the number of "copy"s listed, the newer the copy.

Reach this function under Image/Duplicate

Add a sequential number at the end of the file name.
