Copying images into Word

I feel very stupid that I can’t figure this out.

I am wanting to copy the picture I have open in Photoshop so I can paste it into a Word document. I only have a background layer and no additional layers. Under the edit menu, the copy option is in grey, meaning I cannot select it, nor can I use control + C.

There has to be a way for me to get this image into Word. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Save the image and place it in Word

If I recall correctly, the best image file format to use for Word is PNG.

Use the Save For Web dialogue to fine tune your image’s PNG file output.

Cybernetic Nomad – place into Word how? That’s the whole problem I’m having: physically getting the image into Word (I don’t use Word at home and this is a work project).

The way that I have found to be best is to create a text box and then go to "insert picture from file". That will allow you to move it around within your document.
